Update from Camp

My boy LOVES me....G gave me a BIG hug when I picked him up this morning. The camp had a "closing" with music and then each cabin w/counselors put on a skit. Pretty good. Short and sweet and on our way home by 10am! He's glad to be home. All he wanted to do was take a shower in a REAL shower! oh and of course watch tv, movies and play computer. Already had to tell him to shut the tube off and computer time is done. Guess back to our old ways, but none the less he's home! Oh and last night G's ball team beat the undefeated team and took first place in the tourney! He was excited to hear that, but was actually sad that he missed it. (maybe there's hope yet!)

Hello Mother, Hello Father

On Monday I sent my oldest off to church camp! Ok so its not like he went hours away, try like 45 minutes, and its only from Monday afternoon until Thursday morning, BUT STILL. I was really worried and a little scared. I know, I know, I'm not sending him cross country or to another country, BUT STILL its CAMP. So I knew I would be teary-eyed when we gave him a hug and he would beg us not to leave him. He would change his mind, we would persuade him to stay, promise him frosty's and movies when he got back. NOT . The kid couldn't wait for us to leave him. I'm pretty sure he thought WE were embarassing him! I couldn't believe it. I was actually kinda mad at him, so therefore NO tears were shed. It was more of a sigh and head hanging, looking back, thinking he'd change his mind and give me a quick hug, NOT. No glance back over the shoulder, IN FACT as we headed back to the van to leave, he and another boy were walking w/the counselor and we waved and he ACTED LIKE HE DIDN"T SEE HIS MOTHER WAVING!!!!!!

Ball 2009

Garrett and Maddie played ball this summer. Maddison is done and Garrett's team is in the tournament. Garrett's first tourney game was tonight but his AWOL because of church camp. To be honest, not sure he really cared he missed the game. He will be back for last game on Thursday night. Garrett didn't care to much for ball this year. He enjoys the social part, but not so much the game part. Unless things DRASTICALLY change this might be the last year of baseball for awhile until Owen starts. Garrett did really well when he wanted to, but I think Brent and him butted heads one to many times! So we shall see what next year brings. A LOT can happen between now and then. Maddison on the other hand, LOVES it. Always first one outside to practice and will throw the ball in the air and play catch with herself for hours. She wanted to be WAY early to every game so she could have batting practice! Thinking we will be staying with ball for her awhile. Proud of the kiddos and had a good season! After Thursday we should only have church league games on Monday nights!
NOTE: Games have been moved to Wednesday night so G will miss both games. Oh well!

Father's Day at the Lake

Our Father's Day was pretty relaxed and layed back. Brent did work on our boat all afternoon replacing parts and still didn't get it to work. It starts fine, but then gets hot. Need to try a few more things out to see if we can get it going. ANYWAY...about 5pm we decided to still had to the lake to have a little "beach" fun. But of course wouldn't you know, didn't get a pic of "dad' w/the kids. Sorry...After the beach, got cleaned up, and grilled steak & shrimp kabobs w/my parents and had homemade cherry pie from cherries off of Grandpa Dave and Grandma Donna's cherry tree...Boy were they awesome. Hoping everyone had a great Father's Day too. Stay Cool this week. Its going to be a hot one!Owen and Garrett playing in sand.

Ok I told you I wouldn't post pics and I'm keeping my promise. I did take my camera but I completely forgot to get it out. I'm not kidding I really didn't think of getting it out. I was nervous, wondering if I should go to bathroom ONE more time, what if I get a cramp. All thoughts running thru my head. At the risk of sounding prideful, which I'm totally not trying to be, Brent and I both finished without having to walk. I was very proud of my husband, he really did well considering he hasn't been running that long. I am hoping he continues, but we shall see. I was happy my time was better than last time I ran it (before O was born). Sorry to sound so braggish, but I am so glad we accomplished our goal. Garrett and Maddie both ran the mile. Both started out superfast and were really getting winded about .25 miles. Maddie got it together (she is much more competitive thand Garrett), and ran most of the way. Garrett got it together about .50 miles and the finished strong as well. But Maddie did beat him, BUT BOTH got FIRST in their age groups. Proud of them. Well I am off to nap....Have a wonderful Father's Day tomorrow.

Alert Road Race

So I have my high carb meal ate and think I'm pretty hydrated and I am PRAYING for a good nights sleep and that O doesn't wake up, that Maddie doesn't have a bloody nose and brent doesn't snore. Brent and I are running tomorrow at 7:30am so if your up say a prayer for my husband and I. 6.2 miles is LONG WAY. But oh the kids from church need to go to CHIC. I will post pics tomorrow. Yeah Right. Who wants to see 2 red faced/sweaty/dying for a breath/ pics? You can go ahead and picture it in your head and then when you think you have it take that pic x's 10. That is how we shall look after the race! Oh Maddie and Garrett are running/walking the mile. They will do fine they aren't worried in the least!

My baby is TWO today!

Today is O's big day! To be honest this day is as typical as all the rest. Wakes up early, me trying to get him back to sleep, no luck. Owen picks out the cereal he wants, takes 2 bites and "all done" Next 10 minutes are me trying to get him to eat his ceral. (same scenerio applies w/waffles, pancakes, toast and sometimes eggs!), We change into clothes and change diaper. he then messes around, goes and wakes up Garrett and by this time Maddison is usually awake. Morning is spent playing, snacking, time out, ball, and outside. 11:30 lunch, nap at 12:45. Awake at 2:45 EXACTLY. Rest of afternoon like morning. Then supper and ballgames or outside. So I can't really say we have done anything special. Maybe we can get a frosty or a sonic jr sundae after Maddie's game tonight. We shall see how Owen is by that time.

A couple of weeks after birth. You would think I know, but thinking the camera "date stamp" was wrong or didn't get changed after batteries. This was right before Aunt Mikhaela came over to take pics for birth announcements. I can't believe how little everyone looks. Garrett would have been almost 7 and Maddie 4 1/2! My how the grow up.
